About SCF:

Sindh Community Foundation (SCF), established in 2001 and registered under the Societies Act in 2007, is a non-governmental organization based in Hyderabad, Sindh. It focuses on empowering marginalized communities—especially women, youth, and minorities—through initiatives in education, health, climate change, youth development, and social justice. SCF holds special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC and is PCP certified. With regional offices across Sindh, SCF has earned national and international recognition for advancing community resilience and rights-based development.

1. Position Summary:

The Social Mobilizer will support community-level implementation of the project, including mobilizing parents, children, teachers, and community leaders across 14 villages. The position plays a key role in promoting education access, strengthening community-based child protection, and facilitating climate-responsive awareness. The Social Mobilizer will also support field data collection for the Child Rights Situational Analysis (CRSA) and ensure inclusive, safe, and culturally sensitive engagement with children and communities.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Participation in Orientation & Training

  • Participate in SCF’s project orientation workshop and team-building sessions.
  • Attend KNH-led trainings on participatory, child-centered, gender-sensitive, and ethical research methodologies.
  • Apply safeguarding and child-friendly practices during all community interactions.

B. Community Mobilization & Outreach

  • Mobilize parents, community leaders, School Management Committees (SMCs), teachers, youth groups, and women’s groups.
  • Facilitate awareness sessions on:
    • Education and the importance of continued schooling for girls and boys
    • Child rights, protection from violence, early marriage, and child labour
    • Climate-smart behaviours and environmental care in homes, schools, and communities
  • Support enrollment drives and back-to-school campaigns, especially for out-of-school and at-risk children.

C. Desk Review Contributions

  • Support the Project Manager and MEAL Officer in gathering community-level secondary information (local records, school registers, community knowledge) during the desk review stage.
  • Share local perspectives to complement formal literature and data.

D. CRSA Fieldwork Implementation

  • Conduct field activities for CRSA, including:
    • Household surveys
    • Focus group discussions (children, girls, parents)
    • Key informant interviews (teachers, SMC members, community leaders)
    • Climate vulnerability and protection consultations
  • Ensure safe, respectful, and inclusive participation of children and community members.
  • Facilitate communication and entry into all 14 villages, building trust with local stakeholders.

E. Activity Implementation

  • Assist in organizing school-based sessions, trainings, meetings, and community events.
  • Facilitate protection awareness campaigns and climate-smart safety campaigns at village and school levels.
  • Disseminate and explain IEC materials to communities and schools.

F. Engagement of Targeted Audiences

  • Mobilize and engage:
    • Children (school-going and out-of-school)
    • Parents and caregivers
    • Teachers and SMCs
    • Youth and women’s groups
    • Community elders and local influencers
  • Ensure vulnerable children, including girls, minorities, and those at risk of violence or early marriage, are included in CRSA and project activities.

G. Reporting & Documentation

  • Submit daily/weekly field visit reports to the Project Manager.
  • Document cases, referrals, community feedback, and attendance for all activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of participants, sessions conducted, and progress against targets.

3. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, climate change or a relevant field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in community mobilization, preferably with NGOs in rural settings.
  • Experience working with children, women, and vulnerable groups, climate change
  • Good communication skills in Sindhi and Urdu (spoken and written).

4. Personal Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Sensitivity to child protection, gender, and cultural dynamics.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work in field conditions.
  • Strong commitment to child rights and safeguarding principles.

Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding & Protection Policy:
