A national non-profit organization operating in Peshawar - KP, is looking for qualified, dedicated and experienced individuals to fill the following Positions for a donor-funded Education Project, in district Buner & Shangla-KP
Required Qualification :
Disability and Inclusion Officer (Female)
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Disability Studies, Inclusive Education, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of experience in disability inclusion, ideally within education, child protection, or community development programs.

Knowledge and Skills:
-
Strong understanding of inclusive education models, accessibility standards, and assistive technologies.
-
Familiarity with screening and referral processes for CWDs.
-
Experience conducting accessibility audits and supporting school-level infrastructure planning.
-
Effective communication, training, and facilitation skills.
-
Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including parents, teachers, and health professionals.
Required Experience Skill:
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Disability Studies, Inclusive Education, P&O, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related field.
-
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in disability inclusion, ideally within education, child protection, or community development programs.

Knowledge and Skills:
-
Strong understanding of inclusive education models, accessibility standards, and assistive technologies.
-
Familiarity with screening and referral processes for CWDs.
-
Experience conducting accessibility audits and supporting school-level infrastructure planning.
-
Effective communication, training, and facilitation skills.
-
Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including parents, teachers, and health professionals.

Languages: Proficiency in Urdu and Pashto; working knowledge of English is preferred.

Willingness to travel to project districts regularly.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Lead the development of district-specific inclusion plans in coordination with field teams and the Education Specialist.
-
Ensure disability inclusion is embedded into project workplans, trainings, school activities, and learning materials.
-
Provide technical inputs to ensure project alignment with national inclusive education guidelines and international disability frameworks (e.g., UNCRPD).
-
Support field teams in the identification of children with physical, sensory, intellectual, or psychosocial disabilities in targeted schools and communities.
-
Facilitate and coordinate the referral of CWDs to medical screening camps, disability assessments, and specialized services.
-
Maintain confidential, disaggregated records of identified CWDs and their specific support needs.
-
Facilitate the procurement and provision of appropriate assistive devices (e.g., mobility aids, hearing aids, spectacles, education support kits).
-
Conduct orientation sessions for CWDs, parents, and teachers on the use and maintenance of assistive devices.
-
Monitor the usage and effectiveness of assistive tools in learning environments.
-
Lead the process of conducting accessibility audits in selected schools, reviewing elements such as ramps, handrails, WASH facilities, classroom layouts, and signage.
-
Work with engineering, logistics, and field teams to ensure that construction and renovation activities are inclusive.
-
Evaluate post-construction accessibility and provide recommendations for improvement.
-
Develop and conduct training sessions for National NGO staff, teachers, and stakeholders on disability rights, inclusive education, and universal design principles.

Provide technical backstopping to community mobilization staff to ensure disability-sensitive communication.
-
Support creation of an inclusive and enabling school environment that embraces diversity.
-
Engage with caregivers, community leaders, DPOs (Disabled People’s Organizations), and relevant service providers to foster inclusion and address stigma.
-
Collaborate with education and social welfare departments for joint planning and service delivery.
-
Track inclusion indicators and ensure regular collection of disability-disaggregated data on enrolment, retention, and participation.
-
Document good practices, challenges, and case studies related to disability inclusion.

Support the MEAL team in evaluating inclusive education outcomes and sharing learning across the consortium.
