Purpose

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, The DAFI Project Officer is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and implementation of the DAFI scholarship program, ensuring timely delivery of activities in compliance with donor and organizational requirements. The position supports refugee scholars throughout their academic journey, strengthens coordination with universities and stakeholders, and ensures proper financial, administrative, and reporting management of the project to achieve its intended objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the DAFI scholarship project in line with donor and organizational guidelines.
  • Liaise with universities, partners, and relevant government departments to facilitate student admissions, registration, and academic follow-up.
  • Monitor scholars’ academic performance and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure timely processing of tuition payments, stipends, and other financial requirements in coordination with finance.
  • Prepare periodic narrative and financial reports as per donor requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and database of scholars.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and orientation sessions for scholars and stakeholders.
  • Conduct field visits and regular follow-up with scholars and partner institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and safeguarding standards.
  • Support planning, budgeting, and overall project monitoring and evaluation activities.


  Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of project proposals, concept notes, and work plans.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and preparation of success stories and visibility materials.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities, including surveys and assessments.
  • Provide support during audits and internal/external reviews.
  • Represent the project in meetings, forums, and coordination platforms when required.
  • Support capacity-building activities and career guidance sessions for scholars.

 

 

 

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties related to the position, as reasonably assigned by the Supervisor or relevant Head Office units, in line with organizational policies and operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in education, scholarship, or refugee-related programs.
  • Experience working with universities, government departments, and donor-funded projects.
  • Knowledge of scholarship management, student support, and academic coordination.
  • Experience in budget monitoring and report writing.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and travel as required.
